That Statement Wall Needs Bringing To Fruition

When you decide that it’s time to decorate and refburbish the home, there are so many decisions to be made.  Do you go for an all silk emulsion finish, or perhaps have a statement wall in a modern print.  Or if doing the sitting room, how about doing the wall with the chimney and mantelpiece in a vibrant colour that you pick out from the curtains and soft furnishings.  I have that in my main room – a brilliant dark magenta that highlights one particular flower in the William Morris inspired curtains.  I’ve found it never fails to engage the eye of visitors.  My decorator was a tad dubious about my idea and I had a bit of challenge on my hands to get h him to carry out the instruction.  However after nearly coming to verbal blows, the paint was bought and six coats later, he had to admit that the effect was almost mesmerising.  I still love it, several years later.    The adage goes tha if you have a strong draw towards an idea, go with it and don’t hold back.
