Well I have to say that going out to find the perfect kitchen wall tile is one of the most exhausting exercises I have taken part in.  My goodness there is such a choice and what was once the preserve of the high end kitchen or bathroom designer – the one area that gave them the niche over their competitors, is now well and truly within our grasp.   I often look at magazine on houses and lifestyle.    That combination of modern house and family sea in the country is shown in great detail.  The decor is nearly always contemporary or has gone overboard with the chintzy floral free for all.  What I don’t really like is the article showing distressed woodwork items.  It bugs me so much that anyone in their right  mind would make a perfectly good real wood chair and turn it into something battered looking and in need of a rest down at the tidy tip!  No give me the combination of traditional and slightly modern wood every time.
